Glenn Cunningham
Reflection: Glenn Cunningham happens to be a very remarkable, amazing human being that people adored a lot. At a young age, Glenn Cunningham had an accident involving fire with his brother, Floyd. His brother ended up dying because he had severe burns on his body and he would not survive them. On January 7, Glenn and Floyd both went to their school in a cold night, and so Floyd decided to make fire with coal left over, but what he didn’t know was that it was used the day before in a teacher meeting, and instead of using kerosene he used gasoline. The flames busted right at Floyd and burned Glenn’s legs as well. It was said that Glenn would never be able to use his legs again because they were burned so bad, but he proved everyone to be wrong. With walking, and making himself his own therapy, he walked and walked that he got the opportunity to be in the Olympics, and become a doctor. This goes to show how much heart Cunningham had for himself, and how much determination he had set upon him to recover and not be disabled for the rest of his life. This is truly amazing because he bounced back to health and ran in the Olympics, and not many people have the courage to get better, after a traumatic experience most people tend to go into a depression, and he did not do that. Cunningham is a very courageous person, and he should be looked upon as the strongest man ever.

I can apply this example to my own personal self because I know I can be determined as Glenn was, and what I learned from Glenn Cunningham is that anything is possible despite the circumstances. I can be determined in school, my personal life, and just in general everything.
