Assertiveness
1.         Def: The quality of being self-assured and confident without being aggressive. In the field of psychology and psychotherapy, it is a learnable skill and mode of communication.
2.       Quote: “The best defense against an usurpatory government is an assertive citizenry.” – William F. Buckley, Jr

3.       Reflection: This relates a lot to me because at this very moment I’m taking a class that has to do with something this quote is talking about. Everything is about logic, it’s thinking about things instead of giving an emotional response right of the bat. To defend ourselves from the government we need to do what is only logic, but to also ask questions without being afraid and having the fear of being persecuted. In addition, we the people have to stand up to what we believe in and speak the truth, raise questions, and quit being entertained and understand that the world is changing and we can’t keep having the government dumb us down by entertainment, and the use of technology. We the people have to be confident, and logic when it comes to this subject, because no one cares what we feel it is all about questions and keeping your emotional relationship out of it.
