Habit
1: Be Proactive
“Habit
1 is the key to unlocking all other habits and that’s why it comes first. It
says, “I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I’m responsible
for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver’s seat of my destiny,
not just a passenger.”
Reflection: To be proactive is something positive
in someone’s life and it is something a lot of people should be doing. To be proactive means you are doing something
with your life and making the best out of it. When someone is being proactive
it means they have something going on in their life and they are working hard
to make something happen. When you are being proactive you are also taking
control of your life and being the decision maker in anything and everything.
To be proactive it also means that you are controlling your life and not letting
others control you and drive you in the direction they want you to turn in.
When you are proactive it also means you are helping others and helping them
achieve their goals to be a good person like you. To add on, being proactive
means you are doing everything for your greater good and not letting someone
else control your life for you. All in all being proactive is a positive thing
and people should apply it to their everyday lives.
Quote:
“I believe that everyone chooses how to approach life. If you’re proactive, you
focus on preparing. If you’re reactive, you end up focusing on repairing” ~
John C. Maxwell.
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind.
“Control your own destiny or someone else will.”
(Jack Welch)
Reflection: When you begin with the end in mind
it is something that can push you to do your best and succeed. When someone
begins with the end in their mind it can be as a goal to work hard, pass your
classes, and always be diligent in what you want. From infancy were trained to
start building our future because from small we go to school all upon till we’re
in college and from there find a job in what major we do. To begin with the end
in mind is something good because that is what you will be working towards to
get and to achieve. Everyone in life has ambition to have a big house, a nice
car, or just live a long happy life with no problems so that’s why it is essential
to always have the end in mind because without ambition you have nothing. When you take control of your own destiny it
means that you are taking whatever you are doing very serious and not putting
any excuse to stop you from achieving what you want.
Quote: “You really have to work hard and apply
yourself and by applying yourself and working hard and being diligent, you can
achieve success.” – Julie Benz
Habit
3: Put First Things First.
“Organize
and execute around priorities.”
Reflection:
To put first things first means that you are being responsible and handling
your business the right way. To put first things first means that you are
taking care of the most important things and setting the least important things
last. To put things first means you are being responsible and accountable for
your actions and it also means that you are being punctual and being
responsible in getting stuff done. To also put first things first means that
you are taking matters into your own hands and focusing on what is more
important rather than putting the least important first. When someone puts
first things first it also means that they are people that you can rely on and
maybe even have partnership with them. When it comes to business those people
are the type of people that are wanted because they can get the stuff done. All
in putting first things first is something important and it should be a
priority.
Habit
4: Think-Win-Win
“Think
Win-Win or No Deal.
Reflection:
To think win-win is something interesting because to come out with an outcome
where both you and the person benefit from it is something good. When doing
deals and business deals which are important, both the people are going to want
to do something where they both benefit from it whether it is an increase in
money, or a good opportunity to invest in a business be part owner and get a
percentage rate from how much it makes. To think win-win is also an opportunity
for someone to either learn a lesson or just gain something out of it. No one
likes to do deals knowing they are not going to gain anything. If there is no benefits
guaranteed to you then why bother doing it when only one will benefit from it
and not you. All in all this is good
mind set and it is something people can get help with and gain knowledge.
Habit
5: Seek First to understand, then to be Understood.
“Diagnose
before you prescribe.”
Reflection:
When holding a conversation with someone you always want to understand that
person so when it comes back to you, you can be understood. To be understood is
something everyone looks for in someone else because if someone goes
misunderstood it is something that can hurt someone and make them feel lonely.
To be able to understand the other person it is something everyone looks for
because it is a good feeling to know that you are helping the other person out
in time of need. To understand means a lot because when you understand
something you learn from it and you can move and progress along with what you
understood. First to understand and then to be understood is something
empowering because who doesn’t want to be heard and be made felt important. All
in all this is a very positive habit for everyone in the world and It should be
practiced by others.
Habit 6:
Synergize
“The whole
is greater than the scum of its parts (1+1=3)”
Reflection:
To synergize is a very important habit not just to me but oat should be
important to everyone else. To synergize means to have creative cooperation and
work with others as a team to find adventure, and most importantly to find
solutions to things. To work with other people is helpful because you can get
stuff done and having others put their input is something that is helpful as
well. On a daily basis people always end up going to people or working with
people to get stuff done because to synergize it comes off as naturally. To synergize, is also important because you
end up building friendships with others and forming partnership is something
everyone wants depending on the person. To synergize overall means to be helpful
and giving cooperation to others in time of need, but to others it can mean
something completely different. All in all synergize is something positive and
helpful, and overall everyone has done it a couple of times in their life
times.
Habit
7: Sharpen the Saw
Four
Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Social/Emotional
Reflection:
To sharpen the saw means that you are learning and allowing different things to
enter your life to change you for the better. To sharpen the saw means to be
positive and improving in things that require that little push. There is
nothing wrong with a little push and trying to help you out, everything only
gets better. To sharpen the saw means to working diligent and perfecting anything
that needs help. To sharpen the saw also means to renew anything and everything
in your life that can help you become a better person spiritually, mentally,
and emotionally. Surrounding yourself with positivity is something good and something
valuable that should not be taken for granted. All in all sharpening the saw
has never hurt anyone and it is somewhat of a motivation for not only yourself
but for others.
